Monaco and Eze

Yesterday we arrived in Monaco at 11:00. Our buses were parked in a parking garage just on the edge of the country underneath the palace. We had free time for 2 hours, so I headed out with Crash and Johnny to see the palace, the surrounding gardens, and the shoreline. It was all very beautiful, and I could almost feel the amount of money and wealth in the air! The apartments were so closely compressed, I can understand why this is the most densely populated country in the world. After the gardens, we walked along a pier, so that we could see the country as a whole better and all the expensive boats. We had about 45 minutes left, so the three of us walked to a tiny beach close to the parking garage. We climbed on the rocks a little bit and got some great pictures. I even went swimming for about 10 minutes! The Mediterranean is truly incredible!

The Palace

Not part of Monaco I think, but a similar resort

The entire country on Monaco

From Monaco, we drove another 8km to the town of Eze. We briefly toured a perfume museum and factory, and we had another 2 hours of free time. There wasn’t a lot to see except for a maze of tiny streets up on a rocky mountain with lots of restaurants, shops, and tourist stands. It was neat because it was all very old and still intact. After that we drove at least 3 hours to the town of Cavi where we will spend a total of 2 nights. We had dinner in the hotel, and then we walked 5 minutes to the beach and went swimming. The water was a lot warmer than in Barcelona or Monaco, and it felt great to do some longer stretches of swimming.
