Minimundus in Klagenfurt

I had a really busy and exhausting day! I miss those!

This morning my host parents went on a 3 hour bike trip, so I slept a bit longer and juggled outside for at least an hour before breakfast. When they got back we drove to Klagenfurt at about 12:15. Klagenfurt is a city located in the southernmost portion of Austria. It is still very mountainous but has lots of warm lakes. Klagenfurt is located on the banks of the Wörthersee and is beautiful! We didn’t get to see any of the city itself, but on the outskirts was an awesome outdoor park called “Minimundus.” In the park were 154 to-scale replicas of many well known landmarks from around the world such as the Eiffel Tower, Independence Hall, The Statue of Liberty, The Great Wall of China, and so on. All models were to scale with one another too, so I could get a feel for how enormous some of these structures really are. After about an hour and half there, we drove to visit Maria’s parents also in Kärnten. They will be visiting us tomorrow in Knittelfeld! Once we returned home, we ate dinner, and I jugged again for a while. Tomorrow I go back to school, but only 3 weeks until I am on EuroTour! I am so excited!
