EuroTour Preparations!

The past week and a half has been great but pretty uneventful!

I still have physical therapy with my final session tomorrow. I feel that has helped a bunch and well worth it.

I’ve started swimming a lot more! I was super worn out from swimming 4.3 km at practice this morning, a feeling I haven’t had since February! It was amazing- too bad that just as I’m getting into it again, I leave for another 3 weeks!

Yesterday I visited my first host family, the Knauseders, for the first time in several weeks. They have been busy, but it was good to get caught up again.

Then this evening I visited my second host family, the Haiders. We chatted for about 2 hours, had some dinner, and had a good time. I wanted to be sure to visit my families before I left for EuroTour! And I had to give my amazing host moms their Mother’s Day gifts!

The plan for the next couple days: tomorrow I will run a few more errands for my trip, go to swim practice, go to therapy, and in the evening, drive to Graz with Maria. Once I’m in Graz I will spend the night with a friend and the next morning, head out to Linz to begin EuroTour! We have to wake up early, about 4:30 to catch the train. I also bought a group ticket for 6 of us so that we could save some money. That was a bit stressful to buy ahead of time because I’m responsible for their ride to Linz, and I’d never done that before. I hope I got it right! Once we arrive in Linz, we will drive all the way to Cologne in western Germany. Not only is it all the exchange students from Austria, but also the ones from Croatia. We met them at our Rotary weekend in Salzburg back in December.

I am really excited for this trip! It is known as the finishing highlight to an exchange student’s exchange. I have done research on the cities already, so this way I know something about what I’ll be seeing! I’m not sure if there will ever be wifi in the hotels, but I will have my laptop with my and blog every night, nonetheless. I’ll post every chance I have.
