Cologne, Brussels, and Bruges

This morning we woke up and ate breakfast at our hostel around 7. We loaded the buses afterwards and briefly stopped in the city of Cologne to see the cathedral. After that we began our drive to Brussels. I can’t remember how long the drive was because I fell asleep, but we got there around 12:30. We had free time for about 3 hours to eat, explore, and buy things. Initially it was sunny, but throughout the afternoon it rained on and off the whole time. I ate crepes at a tiny restaurant with Johnny, William, Crash, and Sam for lunch. We all felt better after that and began to look around the city more. I ate a Belgian waffle with chocolate and strawberries (yes the waffles are as good as they are said to be) and walked around with Sam. Due to our lack of time, we couldn’t specifically visit any of the main sights which was too bad. I did however see the Brussels Royal Palace because our buses weren’t parked far away. At 15:45 we drove to Bruges. We first stopped at our hotel and then regrouped outside to go into the city for dinner together in a restaurant. Afterwards we had free time to explore, but it was very cold and windy, and Johnny and I didn’t stay out very long.

That about sums up today. Sorry these entries have been so brief and direct. I promise that I am taking a lot of pictures and learning and enjoying this a lot! We go to Paris tomorrow and maybe I can write more then!
